students and future students will have a “depressed standard of living” (1). The need for a better

students for generations and the solutions to this problem are on ways of improving the quality of
teachers, and utilizing technology.
Teachers are the foundation of a fundamental education, as a result, a good educational
systems is based on well trained teachers. According to Young Zhao, a university distinguished
professor at college of education, Michigan state university, Catching up or leading the way,
Zhao states teachers problems in America is “math teachers lack math- related degrees; and more
than a third middle and high school math classes are taught by someone who lacks even a college
minor in math- related field” (12). This connects to Amanda Ripley, the author of The Smartest
Kids in the World and How They Got That Way, she states that “American 15 –year-olds perform
