If you are measuring the heat lost by metals and gained by water in an experiment, the values should normally be the same. However, How can you account for any differences in these values? In the experiment I did the values were off by a little. I was assuming it was because there was a fan in the closed container of water that seemed to be spinning when the metal was put in, but I am not sure.
